After the Covid-19 virus became a global pandemic, decision-makers rushed to put education online in the US and around the world. Now students of all ages and grades have spent hours before computer screens. This is also new for parents. Even parents who think online education is beneficial have concerns including effectiveness, security, isolation, privacy, and ergonomics.

About Speaker
Dr. McVerry is an Associate Fellow for Online Learning, College of Education, Southern Connecticut University. He has previously served as a Mozilla Open Leader Fellow and in 2017 was chosen by Mozilla as one of the fifty people in the world best protecting the health of the Internet.
Dr. McVerry received a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Cognition, Instruction, and Learning Technologies from the University of Connecticut. Atr UCONN Dr. McVerry was a Neag Fellow in the New Literacies Research Lab. Dr. McVerry has published dozens of articles and chapters and is very involved in the IndieWeb movement. He plans events, camps, and courses all over the planet trying to change the world one domain at a time.
