About
After a decade in enterprise sales with Fortune 500 companies such as Xerox, Parametric Technology, and EMC, Ben transitioned from the corporate world to pursue his entrepreneurial passions in Silicon Valley, blending his interests in sports and technology.
In 2003, he co-founded Pixiem, one of the early pioneers in mobile video game development and publishing. Pixiem produced ESPN’s first-generation mobile games and developed titles for high-profile brands including Wimbledon. The company was acquired by WinWin Gaming in 2005. That same year, Ben co-founded Phizzle, where he has led the company through multiple phases of innovation—from fan engagement platforms to advanced consumer data analytics and IoT automation—while securing over $40 million in venture capital funding.
Phizzle’s clientele has included the NBA, NHL, Madison Square Garden, Fox Sports, and other major organizations. In 2019, the company sold its customer contracts to Messagemedia and executed a strategic pivot into the IoT sector, focusing on pharmaceutical manufacturing. Today, Phizzle’s software plays a key role in Merck’s production of Keytruda, a $19 billion blockbuster immunotherapy drug.
Ben has served on several boards and advisory councils, including the IoT Community’s Converged Edge Center of Excellence, Elon University’s School of Communications, and Evidence Based Associates. A former professional basketball player in Europe, he holds a BA in Business from Walsh University and currently resides in San Francisco.
