The aim of this workshop is to familiarize kids with the exciting and engaging world of coding using Scratch as a tool. It will help kids to learn coding in a fun and immersive way which consequently develops structured problem solving, math, reasoning, teamwork, and self-confidence in them. They can explore their creativity by making games, animations, interactive social stories thus giving wings to their imagination.
Materials Needed:
- Scratch on a PC (free program)
- Scratch works on iPads, Androids or Chromebooks, but we recommend using a computer
- PC (Mac/Windows)
- Webcam/Microphone
- Stable internet connection for the live class
- Online classes will be held by Zoom Video Conferencing (Meeting invitation will be sent before the workshop)
Your kid will:
- learn coding as an essential skill and Scratch as a visual programming language.
- use different components of the Scratch interface in detail.
- learn the concepts of sprite, script, stage, block palette, backdrops, sprite window, motion, events, looping, sequencing.
- understand events, motion, and looks block using activities.
- use code, costumes, and sound tab and drawing tools to create their own characters.
- make a sprite move To and from on the stage.
- change costumes while the sprite is in motion.
- use the concept of Loops and events.
