FAQ
Have Any Question in Mind?
What is a college-bound mentorship program?
The goal of mentorship programs is to help a mentee/student learn skills and obtain information that will guide him/her to attain success in their career. In a college-bound mentorship program, a prospective student is paired with a senior student or a faculty member. These programs help the mentee to expedite his/her career growth. However, from students’ viewpoint, those who are open-minded and keen to learn, usually make the most out of these programs.
What age/grade group is this program designed for?
This program is specifically designed for grades 13-18.
Is it a 1-on-1 program or class?
Based on mentees’ individualized syllabuses, this might be either 1-on-1 or a team study.
How often do mentors and mentees meet?
We anticipate that mentees and mentors will meet once a week for approximately two hours.
What qualifications do your expert mentors have?
The first criteria for mentors are to have an extensive background in a specific field that they are mentoring.
- They have the required skills for mentorship.
- They have gone through our technical and pedagogical training
- They have experience with mentoring K-12 students.
How do you select mentors?
We select our mentors from exclusively successful academics from the top universities such as Stanford and the University of California Berkeley, and professionals from the most successful companies such as Google and IBM.
How do you train your mentors?
Again, we have mentors from the most successful career backgrounds. We train our mentor pedagogically, and as a standard procedure, our mentors are going through background check as well.
How will your engineers and scientist from Silicon Valley be able to relate and build a relationship with my students?
As mentioned earlier, we select mentors with prior experience with students and mentoring. We are also very selective in having good social and communication skills.
Plus, we trained how to communicate and approach the students. We trained them to approach them with a “growth mindset”.
Additionally, all our mentors are guided by supervisors from the company. Supervisors are also meeting students regularly.
If they see a mismatch and communication gap, they support the process and change the mentor if needed.
What are the expected outcomes of the program?
The College Bound Mentorship program is designed to provide high school students with a unique and enriching learning experience. Through this program, students can expect to achieve the following outcomes:
• Academic and Professional Success
• Real-World Experience
• College Readiness
• Personal Growth and Skill Development
• Certificate of Completion
• Recommendation Letters
• Compelling Portfolio
What is your refund policy?
If the registration is canceled before the third week of the program, we provide a full refund. After the third week, it is non-refundable.
How do the tuition payments work?
Tuition payments can be made through our online checkout system by using credit cards or the PayPal transfer system. If these payment systems are not available for you, please contact us via email at [email protected]
Are there any prerequisites or tools?
There are no prerequisites for the program. The required tools are a computer, a microphone, a mouse, a web camera, and a zoom account.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes. We offer a $100 discount for early bird registrations, and we sometimes offer a $50 promotional discount. We may offer special discounts for a group of students or schools that partner with us.
How long does the program last?
The program lasts 12 weeks.
How do students engage in projects and studies remotely?
With our Moodle-based Learning Management System, we have created a virtual learning environment that combines cutting-edge technology and pedagogy. Our mentors and mentees meet in interactive sessions via the Zoom program. Video recordings of live sessions are made available on the LMS course page for later use.
How do you track student progress?
Our curriculum is designed such that mentees engage in project-based activities and advance in milestones. Our mentors check and comment on assigned tasks during and after meetings. Also, mentees’ progress is automatically tracked through the LMS. Students and parents have access to their digital portfolios.
Does this program include just one module or do you offer multiple modules?
We offer multiple modules. Each module lasts 12 weeks.
Do you provide help in college applications?
This program aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed academically and professionally. The program also provides an avenue for students to build a compelling portfolio. However, our Elite College Prep Program is specifically designed to provide a comprehensive college admission preparation.
What are the key benefits of this college-bound mentorship program?
When it comes to getting into the right college, college mentors can make the process an easier and stress-free one. Mentors help students discover their abilities by assessing their current experience and skills.
Under the guidance of our mentors, students will be able to focus on their desired career in a better manner.
