Cancer Cell Image Analysis Project
The Cancer Cell Image Analysis Project is a hands-on research project. The project includes elements of Python, image analysis by using ImageJ and Fiji software, and data analysis via python. Students will work on experimental ongoing research data provided by the Stanford University lab.
This project can be seen as a STEM project since it includes elements of science (medicine), technology (FiJi and ImageJ), engineering, and mathematics (data analysis). Students will also involve in a scientific research process. In the end, they will prepare a scientific report and presentation.
Prediction of Stock Market Trends and Correlating with Social Media Sentiments
This STEM project aims to develop a predictive model that can forecast stock market trends by analyzing social media sentiments. This project is designed for students interested in the fields of computer science, data science, and finance.
The project will provide students with a deeper understanding of the principles of data science and its applications in the finance field, and give them hands-on experience in developing and applying predictive models to real-world problems. It is an interdisciplinary approach that combines computer science, finance, and social media analysis to build innovative solutions in the financial field.
Measuring Air Quality by Using Mobile Devices
The measuring Air Quality by Using Mobile Devices project entails the measurement of particulate matter air pollution by using Do It Yourself (DIY) air quality sensors. The appropriate age for this project is 15+. High school students are expected to participate in the project. The aim of this project is to have students experience a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education intervention and a scientific research process.
The project specifically aims to improve students’ knowledge and ability in specific subjects such as physics (electronics), biology (air pollution), chemistry (air pollutants and their characteristics), engineering, technology (use of mobile applications), and mathematics (data analysis).
Artificial Intelligence Applications in Healthcare
This STEM project aims to develop AI models that can assist in the diagnosis and treatment of Sarcopenia disease using patient data. This project is designed for students interested in computer science, artificial intelligence, and healthcare.
Students will learn how to pre-process and prepare medical data for training AI models and will be introduced to the latest machine learning architectures. They will also learn how to evaluate and optimize the performance of AI models using metrics such as accuracy, precision, and recall. The project is expected to provide students with a deeper understanding of the principles of AI and its applications in the medical field and to give them hands-on experience in developing and applying AI models to real-world healthcare problems.
* These are sample projects that our previous students have completed. We are not limited to these projects; we can develop new and similar projects based on the goals and capabilities of our new students.

The program changed my life in a way where I became more independent compared to how I was used to in high school. The main reason I would recommend the mentorship program is it’s really good for you to develop your own career. The program helps you get an upper hand in your university life.
Nilufer - UC Santa Cruz Computer Engineering
The mentorship program contributed me a lot. It helped me increase my knowledge in coding as well as helped me to guide myself. I learned a lot in Python and image processing and I used this knowledge in a cancer research. This program really helped me to find my career.
Benjamin
I learned how to code a robot basically. It was an incredible experience for me because it showed me that coding and robotics can be so much fun.The program encouraged me to take coding and go on the path of IT.
Nagimash
In the AI in Healthcare course, I learned to code using Python and applied my skills to analyze data on sarcopenia, focusing on factors contributing to its development. This personal research project was particularly rewarding, as I formed a hypothesis, conducted analyses, and presented results.
Kemal
During the program, I learned Python, data analytics, and other necessary skills that helped me land a 6K/mo job at the age of 17. I also got a recommendation letter from a renowned Stanford professor. In academic and career terms, the mentorship program has been very helpful to me.
Daria
In the AI in Finance program, I gained invaluable insights into advanced machine learning techniques. The hands-on approach allowed me to apply theoretical concepts to real-world financial challenges, particularly in developing AI-driven financial indicators.
Alisher
I really enjoyed the program as a whole because it gave me a lot of new knowledge. Mentors are really good and explain everything we need. The program showed me the actual practical process of going through all the things we’ve been learning. It’s a real-life practice experience in my favorite field, data science.
Isfandiyar
The program provided me a structured pathway to enhance my data analysis skills and also instilled a deeper understanding of the research process. The most valuable aspect of the program was hands-on experience with real-time data. We applied theoretical concepts to practical scenarios.
Omer
Before attending this program, I was undecided about which major to study at university, but it gave me an idea about my decision, which kind of is fairly significant.

General Project Syllabus
- Introduction to the Project
- Methods Definition
- Data Analysis
- Derivation of Conclusions
- Final Presentations & Wrap-up
Project Introduction & Background
In this phase, students will be introduced to the project, gaining an understanding of the subject matter and its real-world relevance. We will cover key concepts, define the project goals, and outline the experimental setup.
By the end of this stage, students will have a clear roadmap of the project and the skills they will develop.
Methods Definition & Tools Introduction
Students will learn about the tools and techniques required to conduct the project. This includes hands-on practice with software (such as Python or ImageJ) and methodologies relevant to the field of study.
They will also learn how to define variables, select proper tools, and understand key parameters for analysis. This foundational step prepares students for effective data handling in the following phases.
Data Analysis & Interpretation
In this crucial step, students will work with real data, applying their knowledge of methods and tools to analyze samples. They will learn to interpret plots, track trends, and generate meaningful insights.
This phase emphasizes statistical analysis, coding, and generating plots using software like Python, allowing students to extract meaningful patterns from complex data.
Derivation of Conclusions
After the data analysis, students will focus on deriving meaningful conclusions from their findings. They will explore the biological, physical, or statistical implications of their results and discuss how their outcomes contribute to the field of study. This step sharpens critical thinking and enhances their ability to communicate scientific findings.
Final Presentations & Wrap-Up
The project concludes with students preparing and delivering a final presentation, summarizing their methodology, analysis, and conclusions. They will compile a comprehensive report, showcasing their understanding of the project and their ability to synthesize the information gathered.
This final stage is essential for developing presentation skills and ensuring students are ready to share their findings with a broader audience.

Frequently Asked
Questions
What age/grade group is this program designed for?
This program is specifically designed for grades 13-18.
Is it a one on one program or class?
Based on mentees’ individualized syllabuses, this might be either 1-on-1 or a team study.
How often do mentors and students meet?
We anticipate that students and mentors will meet once a week for two hours.
What qualifications do your mentors have?
The first criteria for mentors are to have an extensive background in a specific field that they are mentoring.
- They have the required skills for mentorship.
- They have gone through our technical and pedagogical training
- They have experience with mentoring K-12 students.
How do you select mentors?
We select our mentors from exclusively successful academics from the top universities such as Stanford and the University of California Berkeley, and professionals from successful companies.
How will your engineers and scientists from Silicon Valley be able to relate and build a relationship with my student?
As mentioned earlier, we select mentors with prior experience with students and mentoring. We are also very selective in having good social and communication skills.
Plus, we trained how to communicate and approach the students. We trained them to approach them with a “growth mindset”.
Additionally, all our mentors are guided by supervisors from the company. Supervisors are also meeting students regularly.
If they see a mismatch and communication gap, they support the process and change the mentor if needed.
